SECURE IN CHRIST
“For God so
loved the world that He gave His one and only Son,
that whoever believes in him shall not perish but
have eternal life.”
John 3:16
Webster’s definition of
secure is: to make safe, to put beyond hazard of losing
or of not receiving: guarantee, to give pledge of
payment to… Security is something we long for but
rarely find in a world of sin and confusion. There are
times we may feel hopeless or disillusioned because
everything is changing around us, our safety net is
gone, there are no guarantees, and promises have been
broken. This would be an easy time for us to throw in
the towel and give up. That is when you seek the wisdom
and comfort of a changeless God. “Never will I leave
you; never will I forsake you.” So we say with
confidence “The Lord is my helper; I will not be
afraid….Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and
forever.” (Hebrews 13:5-6) Our security is firmly
rooted Christ. He guarantees our safety in His arms and
pledges love and life for all who believe.
The theme for the school
year is, “Securing Each Child’s Future - For Eternity”.
This is based on John 3:16, the Gospel in a nutshell.
In these words we find security, safety, a guarantee, a
pledge from our loving God. “For God so loved the
world, (that means you and me and each child), that He
gave His one and only Son, (who endured this world of
sin and confusion), that whoever believes in Him shall
not perish but have eternal life.” Security for
Eternity! It is this message that will be tirelessly
taught at Immanuel Lutheran School, where we have the
privilege of ministering to children 6.5 hrs. a day,
32.5 hrs. a week, 1,105 hrs. a year. Not just providing
them with the knowledge they need to live in our world,
but Christian values and truths for their eternity.
Rejoice that you are secure in Christ!
Secure In Christ,
