Janna Kietzman has served in Lutheran
Education for 25 years. Her passion is
teaching children and the development of
programs and experiences that enrich
each student's faith and strengthen
their God given talents. She has been
serving at Immanuel School since 2002 as
Teacher and Principal. Prior to coming
to Immanuel, Janna was Teacher and
Principal for 18 yrs. at Our Savior's
Lutheran School in Crookston, MN. While
there she taught in the summer Migrant
School Program and directed a portion of
the summer Park & Recreation Program.
Janna earned her degree in Elementary
Education and Early Childhood from
Concordia University in St. Paul. She
also completed the 3 yr. Reading First
Program through WHA and the University
of Minnesota.
Janna loves music and directs the annual
school musicals at Immanuel. She also
enjoys watching movies, playing board
games, and spending time with family and
friends. |
Mrs. Lori

Preschool / Pre-Kindergarten |

Lori
Langton is the preschool and pre-kindergarten
teacher at Immanuel Lutheran School. Lori has
worked in the Early Childhood field for over 10
years, including teacher's aid positions at ECFE
in Roseau, MN and in Walker. After receiving her
CDA (Child Development Associate Credential) in
2001, Lori was a Teacher's Assistant for Head Start
in Walker until 2003. She then took a Teacher's
Aide position with Immanuel, which turned into a
teaching position in 2005. Mrs. Lori and her
husband, Kent, have lived in the Akeley area
since 1998, and have 3 children, all who have
attended Immanuel Lutheran School. The Langton's
enjoy spending time with family and friends, reading
and watching movies. |
Mrs. Zubke

Holly
Zubke is a recent graduate of Concordia
University, Wisconsin. She has her Lutheran
Elementary Education Degree with a minor in Science
Education. She is the youngest of 4 kids. Her
parents currently reside in her childhood home in
Zimmerman, MN. Holly's two brothers and
their families live in Shakopee, MN, while her
sister and family live in St. Louis, MO. For
fun and in her spare time, Holly loves to read,
watch TV, among many other things. Holly has
been truly blessed in the last year with graduating,
being called to Immanuel, and beginning her life
long dream of teaching. May the Lord continue
His work through her.

Mrs. Corina

Teacher's Assistant |
Corina Bronczyk is the teacher aide for
preschool through 3rd grade. She is
very involved in Boy Scouts and Girl
Scouts, as a leader, community
coordinator, and cookie manager. She
has also been a volunteer at the public
school, a Sunday school teacher for over
20 years and a Vacation Bible School
coordinator for over 10 years.
Corina and her husband, Darrin, have
lived in the Walker area for 7 years.
They have 2 teenage children who attend
W-H-A High School. Corina's
hobbies include crafts, sewing and she
enjoys spending time with family and
going to movies.

Lana Ludwig

Title 1 Teacher |
Lana Ludwig is teaching Title
1, helping students succeed in the areas of
reading and math. She graduated from St.
Cloud State University in Elementary
Education with a music minor. She has
worked with all ages of students, preschool
through 8th grade. She was an assistant at
a Montessori school, a substitute teacher, a
Title 1 teacher at St. Regis, Montana, Grand
Marais, MN and Ponsford, MN. She taught
grades 4-6 here at Immanuel Lutheran School
for 4 1/2 years. She is also a piano
teacher and for many years she was a Sunday
School teacher and Bible School teacher.
Lana
and her husband, Steve, have lived in Lake
George for 15 years. They have two sons,
Ben and Luke, and a daughter-in-law, Becca.
Lana's hobbies are reading, playing the
piano, playing handbells and genealogy.

Rev. Michael J. Bitz

Pastor |
Pastor Michael Bitz accepted his
call to Immanuel Lutheran Church on May 18,
2008. He teaches 7th and 8th grade religion
class at Immanuel Lutheran School and also leads
the Chapel Services. Pastor Bitz looks forward
to working with the school and teaching young
minds the fundamental framework for
understanding God's wonderful creation and the
culture he has placed us in. Pastor graduated
from Long Prairie/Grey Eagle High School in
1998, he went on to college at Minnesota State
University, Mankato and received his B.S. in
management in 2002. He took some time off of
school and worked until he married his wife
Angela in the fall of 2003. Shortly afterwards
they moved to St. Louis and he began the Masters
of Divinity program at Concordia Seminary to
receive training to be a pastor. During the
first three years of seminary, they were blessed
with their first two children, Caleb and
Elizabeth. His fourth year they moved to
Sawyer, MI to complete his year-long vicarage at
Trinity Lutheran Church. Their third child,
Nathan, was born back in St. Louis during his
fifth, and final year in seminary. Pastor and
his family are excited to be serving Christ here
at Immanuel Lutheran Church and School. They
live in Walker and their son, Caleb, attends the
preschool class at Immanuel.

Mrs. Peggy Schmidtke

Peggy Schmidtke is the secretary for
Immanuel Lutheran Church & School. She
has been a volunteer at
Immanuel Lutheran School since 1998 and
is the chairperson for Immanuel's
biggest fundraiser, the annual ABC Sale
held at the beginning of June.
Peggy and her husband, Rick, have lived
in Walker since 1988 and raise
Chihuahuas and miniature horses. They
have 2 sons who also live in Walker.
Peggy enjoys gardening, crocheting,
knitting and spending time with her
grandchildren. |
